Rosenheim - Der Mittelpunkt Südostbayerns

Rosenheim is a city located on the banks of the Inn brimming with culture and free time opportunities. It is also more than just the setting for the famous Rosenheim cops. The city is in one of the most beautiful holiday areas in Bavaria: in the Alpine foothills between Wendelstein and Chiemsee.
Rosenheim was first mentioned in documents as early as 1234. Over the years, the town has developed into the economic and cultural metropolis of south east Bavaria with approx. 60,000 residents. The heart of the old town is Max-Josefs-Platz, which is surrounded by beautiful arcades and town houses in the Inn-Salzach style.

Rosenheim is also known for its lively art and culture scene. The generously sized culture and conference centre, internationally renowned “Lokschuppen” exhibition center, town gallery and smaller local theatres offer fantastic locations for cultural events. The town museum, technical wood museum and Inn museum showcase the town’s rich history.

Tradition and Bavarian life is perfectly demonstrated at the
town’s many festivals. The Rosenheim autumn festival, south east Bavaria’s largest town festival, is known far and wide. Rosenheim is also known as a center of innovation for numerous science and research institutes, including the technical university, wood and plastics technology application center, the Institute for window technology and many more. Economically, Rosenheim is the backbone of south east Bavaria with several world renowned companies located in the area. Sport is also an important issue in the town. Every sports fanatic finds their niche here.

Rosenheim is easily reachable with the motorway (Munich-Salzburg-Innsbruck) and the railway. The airports in Munich and Salzburg are just 100 km and 80 km away respectively.
