Packages for the Bavarian State Exhibition 2011

“Twilight of the Gods. King Ludwig II”

The Bavarian State Exhibition 2011, organized by the Center for Bavarian History,is presenting a modern perspective on King Ludwig II in the “Rohbauräumen”, an area of Castle Herrenchiemsee which will be accessible to the public for the fi rst time. The exhibition is almost reminiscent of a modern theatre production featuring a scenographic succession of spaces, similar to a series of stage designs. The creatively presented exhibition spans from Ludwig II’s dreams and art to his wars and mythos, using excerpts from the well-known Ludwig films of the 20th Century. The State Exhibition employs cutting-edge media to bring Ludwig II’s story to life. Computer artists like the Ramirez Perez brothers, shooting stars of the YouTube Generation, were invited to design contemporary spaces that still remain true to the period - inspired by the theatrical, artistic décor of Ludwig II’s “illusion machine”. The King’s unrealized dreams are then presented in full glory in 3D simulations.
