Visitor’s Tax

People visiting the market town’s spa area for health treatment or relaxation purposes, who do not have their primary residence in the area as stipulated by German law and who have the opportunity to use the spa facilities and take part in events, are obligated to pay a visitor’s tax. This obligation is not linked to whether or to what extent the visitor actually uses the facilities for health purposes.

Visitor’s tax per day:

 For individuals                      € 1.50                        € 1.00

 For families              

 - for the first person              € 1.50                          € 1.00

 - for the second person          € 1.50                          € 1.00

 - for the third and                  € 1.00                         € 0.70 
   every further person

Children are not obligated to pay visitor’s tax up until the end of their 6th year. Children between 7 and 16 inclusive pay the same rates of a third person in a family as outlined above.
