Relaxing walks and hikes, unforgettable cycling tours around the Chiemsee shoreline or a voyage in a motorboat – there truly is something to suit every taste. The beautiful scenery of the Chiemgauer Alps is a paradise for free time activities. The Prienavera leisure centre offers a 25 meter pool for swimmers, a fun and adventure pool for children and absolute relaxation for adults on underwater recliners and in the wellness area.
If you want to let your mind (and your feet) wander then the shoreline walk is the perfect place to do so, as are the numerous cafes and guesthouses lining the lake with stunning views of the Alps. Sea Life Europe

Amerang Castle

Visitors can take in the Renaissance-era central courtyard, the restored gothic castle chapel, the large rooms with furniture and art from all periods of history as well as the knight’s hall and dungeon.

Eagle’s Nest

The Eagle’s Nest (1,834 m) has a breathtaking view over the entire Berchtesgadener Land region. The 6.5 km route from Obersalzberg to the house was built into the rock in just 13 months in 1939.

St. Bartholomä - Königsee

The Königsee lake forms the heart of Berchtesgaden national park. Just a short hop from its shoreline is St. Batholomä, the pilgrimage church and former hunter lodge of Bavarian kings.

Centre of Documentation in Obersalzberg

The Centre of Documentation in Obersalzberg is a permanent exhibition from the Institute for Contemporary History in Obersalzberg. It was commissioned by the State of Bavaria.

Berchtesgaden Salt Mine - SalzZeitReise
